Newsletter August 2009

26 August 2009 (2nd Edition)

In September 2009 the two houses will have been open for one year and we feel like celebrating!

There were 13 children in the houses this year, who had a safe place to stay and a home where they were fed, cared for and loved. It was definitely a team effort with God as our source of wisdom, love, joy, peace, energy and motivation.

The team consists of the house committee, the foster mothers, volunteers, sponsors and community members. Thank you to everyone who contributed to make these houses safe and loving homes.

Zanovuyo:

Nonkosi Setona resigned as foster mother of Zanovuyo and left the house on 31 May 2009.  Caroline Belebesi started on 1 June 2009 as our new foster mother. She is originally from Orangefarm in Gauteng, and we really appreciate her leaving her home and help at the Vineyard House. The children have adapted well to their new mother.

Another big change is that our baby in the house, Anele (1yr), was placed with his aunt after staying six months in the Vineyard House.  Caroline has now six children in her care. The two new comers in the house are Sinesipho (girl, 5yr) who came in May 2009 and Abongile (boy, 10yr) who arrived in June 2009. Please pray for all of them.

Zanokhanyo:

Yoliswa Mbombo is still our foster mother at Zanokanyo. Yoliswa likes new challenges.  She is busy training for her driver’s licence and completing a Christian course called “Touching Hearts”. She has five children in her care with three new-comers in the family:  Lorenzo (boy, 5 yr) and Timna (girl, 9yr) who arrived in May 2009 and Yonela (girl, 2yr) who arrived in August 2009 . Please pray for them.
